Extensive experience in adult education and vocational education and training, in developing and producing learning materials over many subject areas and training in instructional design, materials development and writing in plain English.

Experience

In-house:

Adult education and vocational education and training (TAFE); developing and producing learning materials (print, video and online) for government and non-government organisations and over many subject areas (eg health, horticulture, automotive, service industries, community services); training in instructional design and materials development. Editor for (private) publisher of education and training learning materials (accredited units of competency) to support national training packages across a range of industries.

Freelance:

Training in the writing and production of self-paced flexible learning materials. Writing and modifying materials for VET sector; editing non-fiction, publicity brochures, direct mail; writing for online delivery.

Other:

Working with content experts to write learning materials in many subject areas for a variety of teaching/training situations, including online. Rewriting of content, creating learning and assessment activities to support learning, developing competency standards and learning outcomes, project managing a team of desktop publishers, graphic artists and video technicians

Qualifications

Diploma of Teaching.

Accuracy, consistency and thoroughness with an eye for detail, on-screen editing, project management, report writing, script writing, teaching editing and writing skills, technical writing, willing to undertake just about any subject area, word processing, writing and rewriting, writing in plain English, writing to required/targeted readability levels.

Extensive experience with National Training Packages and Units of Competency.
