October is book club month!

Posted on: 29 September 2015

Join us on Monday 26 October 2015, 7.00 for 7.30 pm
SA Writers Centre, 187 Rundle Street, Adelaide

Bring your glasses (of the spectacular kind), your favourite book and your festive book club mindset, and we’ll have an evening of serious fun.

Our guest reader this year is the delightful Pam Maitland, known to most of us through her role as our newsletter book reviewer. She is inviting all who come to share their favourite book of all time OR their favourite book of the last year.

Says Pam:
It will be good to hear why you loved that book and to hear a brief reading from it, if you like – say up to 3 minutes. As to the kind of book, there are no limits: fiction, non-fiction, poetry … Bring it on!

Pam is an editor of over 15-years’ standing. Since 2008 she has been working at the Dymocks Rundle Mall store, where she has endless reading temptations and stimulation: every month she and her colleagues surf another wave of new releases.

Honorary Life Membership: Rosemary Luke

A part of the evening’s festivities will be the conferral of an honorary life membership upon Rosemary Luke, a long-standing Society of Editors (SA) member, valuable committee member and past president, and respected IPEd Councillor and one-time Chair.

Wine and nibbles will be served. Please email rsvp@editors-sa.org.au if you have specific dietary requirements
.

Please register your attendance via Eventzilla on our website at http://www.editors-sa.org.au/

Please note that the Book Club meeting will be preceded by a Special General Meeting, from 6.00–7.00 pm, that is being convened to give full members the opportunity of voting in person on the IPEd Transition Plan. For more information about the SGM please refer to our previous email on this topic. Members are free to attend either or both the Book Club meeting and SGM.
